How To Be Sexy by Helen Gurley Brown

Clean hair is sexy. Being able to sit very still is sexy. Smiles are sexy. It is unsexy to talk about members of your family and how cute or awful they are. Or about your boss a lot---he's another man---a rival.

Talking all the time about anything is unsexy. Sphinxes and Mona Lisas knew what they were doing! Gossips---surprise, surprise---in not unsexy!

The little black dress is sexy. Perfume is sexy. Good health is sexy. Liking men is sexy. It is by and large just about the sexiest thing you can do. But I mean really liking, not just pretending. You must spend time plotting how to make him happier. Not just him . . . them!

Makeup Advice by Aida Grey

Don't wait to experiment with makeup styles until that special evening when you're going out. Instead, chose a free time when you can try different shades, techniques and products in a relaxed way. Decide what you like, what looks good on you. Then, when you really want to look your best, you will be prepared.

For daytime, makeup must be natural, lighter. Evening makeup can be more artificial and sophisticated, to harmonize with evening clothes and to fit the occasion.

No matter what type of makeup you are using, be sure to check yourself in a different type of light after you have applied it. Different lights bring out different tones, and you don't want any surprises.
